Sports and Remedial Massage

Sports and remedial massage is a deep form of soft-tissue massage that incorporates a range of specific techniques to assess and treat muscle imbalances, potential over-use areas or soft-tissue injuries. It aims to trace the pain or discomfort back to the original cause with the objective of healing the cause of the problem as well as the symptoms.

It is ideal for those who are participating in sport at any level – from the dedicated athlete to the occasional runner:

  • It helps to promote faster recovery from injury
  • It makes training more effective
  • It contributes to better performances

As well as treating injuries and chronic conditions  this form of deep tissue massage is a great way of dealing with a wide range of aches and pains brought on by:

  • Extensive hours sitting in front of computers, at desks, or in the car
  • Carrying children
  • Gardening
  • DIY, etc.

I have a Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy from Premier Training International. This qualification is focused on more advanced client assessment, advanced sports massage techniques and post-care advice, ensuring that any work done is highly effective and focussed on the client’s needs.

10/10 for friendliness and professionalism.
Most definitely recommend.”  Heidi Nelson

“What seemed like my problem would take forever for a diagnosis (and then the wait for treatment) on the NHS I decided to give Derby Cottage Clinic a try.  More than pleased with my results, after just 2 visits. I now have full mobility in my knee coupled with a wealth of knowledge and on-going ‘how to’ self-care. I cannot recommend this place enough. Mark, you are a genius. THANK YOU.”  Christine Weetman
